How is Maple Syrup Made?

Jun - 2013

Maple Syrup production starts with drilling trees and tapping them to collect their sap in the spring of the year.

Once tapped the next step is gathering the sap into large tanks which can be done with pails or with miles of plastic pipe and tubing.

Once collected the sap needs to be boiled down until it reaches syrup consistency.

In recent years reverse osmosis is being used to remove most of the water prior to boiling in order to save on time and fuel.

Once boiled the Maple syrup is filtered, graded and packaged for the consumers enjoyment.
